Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Sales Agent to join our team. In this role you are responsible for:
1. Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Identify shippers, manufacturers, and distributors that require freight services (FTL, LTL, drayage, warehousing, etc.).
- Research and qualify leads through industry databases, freight boards, networking events, and online platforms (e.g., LinkedIn).
2. Understanding Logistics Services
Be well-versed in the company’s offerings such as:
3. Client Needs Assessment
- Conduct discovery calls to assess client supply chain pain points (e.g., transit time, freight costs, reliability).
- Recommend tailored transportation solutions that meet the customer’s unique business requirements.
4. Closing and Onboarding
- Coordinate with operations for smooth onboarding, ensuring routing guides, EDI/API setups, or SOPs are in place.
5. Account Management and Retention
- Provide ongoing support to ensure service quality (e.g., tracking updates, resolving claims, minimizing delays).
- Proactively engage with clients to encourage repeat business and contract renewals.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with carrier sales and customer service teams to ensure commitments are met.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally to improve service performance.
7. Market Intelligence
- Stay current on freight trends, capacity changes, diesel prices, seasonal surges, and regulatory shifts (e.g., FMCSA, DOT).
- Use this knowledge to advise clients and adjust strategies.
8. Reporting and Forecasting
- Provide regular updates to management on revenue, margin performance, and sales pipeline health.
- Forecast sales performance to assist with resource planning.
Compensation
This position is 1099 employee at full commission.
